Welcoming new challenges, stay connecting with people, and pursuing chances that allow me to experience different countries, cultures, and communities. Tries everything, anything that would let me to get to know more people and always tries to step out of my comfort zone.
The perception I have on my life and my observation of the world are all nutrient for my creation. Engages the crowd, reads more, travels to the world, and makes films that would make other feels.
Personal Background
Years Before University
Before university, I was basically a kid that did not know better which means I did not even appreciate the life that I was given and the world I was in. I was not particularly good at school work and grades. However, my parents invested many interests/hobbies/ skills, whatever you want to called it, in my childhood. For instance, calligraphy paved my patience, painting develops my aesthetic understanding, playing in a percussion music cultivates my taste for music, just to name a few. All of the mentioned above, shapes my personalities and makes me who I am today. Most importantly they all contribute a lot for my love towards cinema.
First two years of University
September 2017 - June 2019
I went to Radio, Film and Television Department at the Shih Hsin University, Taipei, Taiwan. Everything is exciting and refreshing for me, I want to explore everything. I start to develop my own taste and perspectives to life through film and cinema. However, I was still not quite sure about where my future and my career is going. Therefore, I started to pick up a second foreign language —Spanish in my spare time. Which later on led me to a life-changing trip to Spain in 2019.
After Barcelona
Sep 2019 - Dec 2023
A lot of things changed shortly after my trip to Barcelona, the boarders shut down and the world seemed to be at halt. Fortunately, everything in Taiwan remains the same, almost like living in a parallel university. It's when I set my mind "full-on" into filmmaking. Within years time, my experiences in productions started to pile up. Not only student productions, but also with numerous music videos, commercials, and other productions. I personally, focus most of my energy into the creation of narrative film. It is also where I started to connect with my root, my cultures, and my people, in other words, I understand myself more through the films I made. And that to me, is the most valuable thing for me about this industry.
Now
Dec 2023 - Now
In the winter of late 2022, after painstaking consideration, I decided to pack my bags and landed in LAX to pursue my version of the cliché Hollywood dream. I am still currently studying at UCLA to pursue a certificate in producing. Aspiring to be an independent filmmaker in the industry.
